Bachelors - 1st Cycle

Admission and Entrance Conditions and Requirements
You may apply for a bachelor program at  Instituto Politécnico de Tomar, under the International Student Statute if you have not Portuguese nationality and if:
a) You are not a citizen of a EU member state;
b) You have not been living in Portugal for more than two years on a continual basis as on August 31 of the year in which he/she intends to attend the IPT as well as his/her co-habiting children;
c) You have not applied for entry via the special entrance schemes or exchange schemes;
and if
d) You hold a qualification that confers on them the right to apply and be admitted to a higher education establishment of the country that awarded the qualification; or
e) You hold a Portuguese Secondary School Diploma or equivalent qualification

Portuguese Language

The attendance of any bachelor programs at Polytechnic of Tomar requires an independent user of the portuguese language in which the course is taught ( B2 level) , according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). International students who do not have the B2 level may apply with the condition to attend in Polytechnic of Tomar a language training in in which the course is taught until they reach the required level. Students who have attended secondary school in the language that the bachelor program they are applying is taught will not need to attend the language course.

Application Calendar 

Application documentation (must be submitted via email to gri@ipt.pt )
1 - The application process includes the Pre-Application .Word | .Pdf  that must be accompanied by the following documents:
a) Copy of ID card or other legal identification document issued by the home-country authorities;
b) Declaration of oath attesting that the applicant does not have Portuguese citizenship and is not subject to any of the terms listed in paragraph 2 of article 1 or, for cases provided for by article 18, that he/she opts for the international student status under the terms of sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph 2 of the abovementioned article in accordance with a form template available from the Registry Office and the IPT website;
c) Document attesting completion of the Portuguese secondary education or equivalent, if applicable;
d) If the academic qualification presented is not from China or Brazil, the student must provide documentary evidence from the awarding country duly validated by the competent authority of that country under the terms of article 3, paragraph 2.
e) Documentary evidence of the grade point average obtained:
i) In the final exams for Portuguese secondary education corresponding to entrance exams for holders of a Portuguese secondary education diploma or for holders of a foreign secondary education diploma who took those exams as individual applicants;
ii) In the nationwide higher education entrance exam in the situations stated in article 5, paragraph 3;
iii) In the final exams of courses/modules within foreign courses of study equivalent to the Portuguese secondary education which may, in the cases set out in article 5(4), replace entrance exams;
iv) Where applicants are unable to provide the document mentioned in the previous sub-paragraph they shall provide a statement signed on oath of the grades obtained and the necessary documentary evidence until the end of the third month following registration and enrolment;
f) Elementary Diploma of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (DEPLE) or Intermediate Diploma of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (DIPLE) or B1 or B2 certificates from a Portuguese institution authorised to issue them or a statement signed on oath attesting that applicants have a command of the Portuguese language corresponding to level B1 where they have not attended the Portuguese secondary education (*);
g) Power of Attorney where application request is submitted by a representative.
2 - The documents mentioned in sub-paragraphs (c), (d), (e), and (g) must be translated if they are not issued in Portuguese, English, French or Spanish and certified by the consular authorities or endorsed with the Hague Apostille by the competent authority of the state issuing it.

(*) If International Student applicants do not have a B2 level of Portuguese Language they should do a statement signed on oath attesting the commitment  to attend in Polytechnic of Tomar a language training in in which the course is taught until they reach the required level.

Application fee is 40€.

Attendance fee per academic year to the bachelors programs of Photography, Conservation and Restoration, Design and Graphic Arts and Documentary Film Studies is 1450 €  ;  Attendance fee of all the other Bachelor Programs is 1250 € per academic year; After being selected the International Student should proceed with the enrollment and pay 40% of the attendance fee by bank transfer to the bank account reffered above. IPT will proceed with the documentation regarding the visa.
