Yesterday, 12 October, saw the launch of the International Teaching and Research Week at the Polytechnic University of Tomar, as part of the Erasmus Days celebrations!
Until 16 October, we are hosting lecturers from various European universities and from Jordan, at an event dedicated to knowledge-sharing, networking, international cooperation and discovering our University and the region.
The first day was marked by moments of welcome, sharing and discovery!
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Célio Marques, welcomed the participants, followed by a presentation of our research centres:

TECHN&ART – A research and development centre dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of heritage, presented by its director, Professor Hermínia Sol;

Centre for Geosciences – presented by Professor Sara Garcês;

Ci2 – Smart Cities Research Centre – presented by Professor Renato Panda.
The programme also included a welcome lunch and tours of various areas of UPTomar, allowing participants to gain a first-hand insight into the work carried out in our laboratories:

The VITASenior laboratory, with Professor Jorge Guilherme;

The Graphic Design laboratories, with Professor and Erasmus Co-ordinator Rui Proença;

The Conservation and Restoration laboratories, with Professor and Erasmus Co-ordinator Fernando Antunes.
This week offers yet another opportunity to strengthen partnerships, forge new links and open doors to future international collaborations, reinforcing UPTomar’s commitment to increasingly global teaching and research!
